BocaFirst is a nonprofit community news source. Our goal is to provide Boca Raton residents with information on local issues often missed in profit-based publications. In the 8 months we’ve been operating, we’ve published 80 articles and 9 videos. BocaFirst is free of advertising, free of benefactors and provides multiple independent points of views. It’s not unusual for voters to wonder if they are still a priority after the election ballots are counted. Don’t get us wrong – we have one of the most approachable city council we have had in years. Their job is time consuming and it requires considering what is best for all Boca residents. So it’s not unusual to feel like your neighborhood concerns are getting lost in the shuffle.

The City Council has a staff of lawyers and development specialists. Developers have a legal team, marketing department and the support of the Chamber of Commerce.
As volunteers, we devote time and energy to keep readers like you informed. We are a nonprofit, volunteer organization focussed on Boca, a place we all call home. However, even volunteer blogs have expenses. Advertising, website, electronic newsletters, and video production are just some of the expenses BocaFirst volunteers incur in order to run a successful public presence.
