Better Bike Friendly Advocate – Jim Wood

by Les Wilson

As part of our BocaFirst Vision Zero Project, we took our Boca Matters video series out of the studio and onto the street to talk to people about what it’s like to bicycle in Boca Raton. These are real world uses of Boca Raton’s pedestrian/bike infrastructure. In this episode, we profile “Better Bike Friendly” advocate Jim Wood. Jim is a computer engineer and long time distance cyclist.

Better Bike Friendly Advocate Jim Wood

PROFILE: Avid and Around Town Cyclist
DESCRIPTION: Jim has competed in distance events in every state he’s lived in. Having lived in Broken Sound and now in Boca’s Downtown District, Jim has experienced and is very knowledgeable about Boca’s bike infrastructure.
NOTABLE QUOTE: “On A1A, the speed limit should be 25. That’s the same pace most large pelotons ride so conflicts with motorists go away. Then there should be better enforcement for both cyclists and motorists.”
