Below is a 25 minute screencast on YouTube of my presentation to the Boca Raton Citizen Pedestrian and Bike Board Advisory Board regarding the impact of the newly proposed Camino Square Phase 2 as it affects the pedestrian and bike infrastructure. For reference, this what phase 2 was supposed to be when the phase 1 plan was approved in 2019.

Lets be honest about the history of this project without the hyperbole
I did not have time in my presentation to mention that in 2019, the traffic in Subarea D was not vested (as it should have been). Under former mayor Haynie, 2015 CRA excused themselves from building the 1988 roadway design specified by the County to handle Subarea D. What was built in 2020 for phase 1 is the County’s 1988 roadway design. As I point out in my presentation below, the traffic may be vested by din of that 1988 era design but the out-of-date ped/bike sidewalk design cannot, by definition, be up to snuff for the needs of phase 2 and for Boca Raton as a Vision Zero City with a Complete Street ordinance. I show how it isn’t up to snuff in my presentation below and what could easily be done to it to make it up to snuff.

As a resident of southeast Boca Raton since 1999, I present the following:
- The current mobility infrastructure deficiencies
- The truth about the property frontage
- How the project, as-is, will create another un-walkable area of the CRA that will inhibit the success of Camino Square
- How the pedestrian/bike infrastructure can easily be upgraded to improve the appeal of Camino Square and make the project thrive for future residents of Camino Square as well as for the thousands of single family homes surrounding it.
