On March 17th 2020, three Boca Raton City Council seats will be on the election ballot and one of them is that of Council Member Andrea Levine O’Rourke. Today she filed for re-election.
Other seats up for election are Mayor and Seat A. If those races sound familiar, you are right. Both of those seats were filled in a special election last August. Mayor Scott Singer won the seat vacated by Mayor Susan Haynie’s arrest and suspension. Scott Singer’s vacated Seat A was won by 32 votes by Andy Thomson. Both Mayor Singer and Council Member Thomson have filed for re-election. Council Member Andrea Levine O’Rourke joins them in her own re-election bid for her own seat (B). Seats C and D (Jeremy Rodgers and Monica Mayotte respectively) are not up for election in March. You can learn more about Council Member O’Rourke in our BocaMatters interview with her earlier this year when she squashed the fake news of local blogs.
